Over at VanityFair.com, Dee Dee Myers asks: Is Obama the Most Famous Living Person Ever?
To put it quite simply: No way!
To elaborate on that: Not even close. The view from your ivory tower must be nice if you really believe that Barack Obama is the most famous person in the world.
Now you may recall that I have a vested interest in this topic, having recently asserted the following:
Britney Spears is the most famous person who ever lived. She’s Michael Jackson times a million. She’s bigger than the pope. Since she was a kid she’s been watched by the entire world and more people are watching now than ever before.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
UPDATE: After seeing a display of framed poster-sized portraits of Obama at Lot-Less Discounts on Clinton, I’m tempted to tone down my argument a bit.
