Ty Pennington has been on my mind a lot lately. A story I wrote about him is out now on Glasses Glasses (Volume 2: Cops & Robbers).
Head over to his Wikipedia and you’ll learn some things you never knew before — like the fact that his birthname is the not so glamorous Gary Tygert Pennington. Or, even more shocking, you could learn about the token economy system, with which he was raised. Now I only have a Wikipedia-level knowledge of the thing, but training un-rulable people by trading socially acceptable behavior for a complex system of rewards seems a little creepy. What happens if little Ty doesn’t get a token?
