Lots of people are hating on the new ad campaign for Rodarte.
I’m going to say: I don’t hate it. Overall, the ad reflects the quiet feel of the line. And when I see the sheer wash of color over the text I literally see Jourdan Dunn in that amazing Spring 09 dress. Ain’t nothing wrong [...]
This months covers are hitting hard, with two new catwalk favorites killing. it. The gold goes to Lakshmi Menon on the cover of Dazed & Confused, but Arlenis Sosa’s run in Time’s Style & Design issue is nothing to laugh about either. Vogue cover, here they come?
Plus, as a treat for the ladies, a little [...]
A while back, I feel in love with Vena Cava’s “Egyptomania” Spring/Summer 09 collection.
The collection has been on my mind a lot recently for a lot of reasons. First of all, I want everything. Secondly, I made out like a bandit at the Opening Ceremony sample sale a while back, but am still looking for [...]

Fashion week is here again. Something tells me I won’t be following this one as closely as last time around. Maybe it’s because Full Frontal Fashion is no mas, and my computer is kaput. Haven’t even finished dishing on pre-fall.
As usual Alex Wang is a hot topic. Overall the collection felt a little bit spring [...]

So looking through old (and virtual) issues Vogue Russia for that last post, I came across this photo from a Sept. 08 issue of the mag.

This weekend I’m headed off to Mohegan Sun for Winefest! Thankfully, my trunk of Pre-Fall ‘09 goodies arrived just in time. Packing’s a bitch, so let’s plan ahead, shall we.
What should I wear?
Friday’s going to be cold as can be and I’ve got to go straight from the office to the train, so let’s play [...]
I hate award shows. Today I was flipping through NY mag’s red carpet coverage and realized that if I had to make room for an award show in my cold, dark heart, it would be the Golden Globes. You see, this is the one where the TV people get all excited to dress up while [...]

I’ve got no dough for shopping, but I recently inhereted a bunch of colorful wool suits from my mother. They’ve been lingering, unworkn, in my closet, but now I think I might have an idea how to style them, thanks to Hilary Alexander and the good folks at the Telegraph.

The spring shows have me aching to start dressing like an adult, but I’m broker than a laid-off Lehman Bros. banker. So instead of shopping I’ve got to work with what I got, which I guess is the difference between fashion and style. When I go spend the weekend taking stock of my closet I’m [...]

So I haven’t written too much about fashion week, mostly because most has been total shitsville. Mme. Roitfeld didn’t even make the trip.
But among the schizophrenic shows I definitely spotted some must-haves. Here’s my near-obsessive shopping list:
